MCC's Award Winning Model United Nations Program
The Model United Nations Program has been a leading award
winning program that has been recognized nationally. MCC since 2006 has
been attending the simulation in New York City at the real UN. Last year
because of COVID19, the simulation cancelled, which was very disappointing to
our students but this year we came back strong. It’s worth pointing
out that our college attends the largest Model UN simulation in the world, held
in New York City with 5,000 students from all over the world and we compete
against 135 colleges such as (Columbia, PACE University, Baylor University,
University of France, Yale and many other colleges and universities
world-wide). This year Natalia Mudrenko, Counsellor to the Permanent
Mission of Ukraine and Brian Endless, President, Hotel Rwanda Rusesabagina
Foundation were the key-note speakers at the UN. MCC represented the
country of OMAN and our students had the privilege of meeting the actual
Ambassador to OMAN. Because of MCC connection with Model UN and student
connections, we have three of our students currently work at the UN, one has
started her own nonprofit organization, the faculty have presented MCC program
to Washington University in DC and University of Buffalo.
