Become A MAPPS Fellow - Multicultural Assistance Peer Program For Students
This initiative focuses on students who are finding it hard to find employment and need skills while trying to work their way through college. Our under-represented students, International students and students who for whatever reason do not qualify for financial aid, or scholarships but need to work in order to survive through college can apply to the MAPPS Fellow program.
A MAPPS Fellow will obtain the following benefits:
- MAPP Fellows are paid $20.00 an hour
- Work 10 hours a week
- Learn different skills
- Being trained in areas where help is needed
- Learning the sense of collaboration, leadership and communication
MAPPS Goals:
- Promote the development of general education knowledge, skills and competencies for students to succeed.
- Apply experiential learning opportunities for current & prospective students
- Improve retention and completion rates for all degree- /certificate-seeking students
- Pursue strategic partnerships to strengthen the educational pipeline and to assist learners in attaining their career goals
- Foster a culture that promotes openness, trust, collaboration, accountability and mutual respect that is shared among students, faculty, staff and administrators from diverse backgrounds
- Implement diversity and inclusion practices, focused on recruiting students, student retention, improve campus climate and student success.
Students who are interested in being employed as a MAPPS Fellow student are encouraged to find out more by attending an informational session about the program.
