Zoom version 5.0 - upgrade now

Zoom has released Zoom 5.0, providing increased security protection for meetings.

This software upgrade will be pushed out automatically by Technology Services to on-campus PCs.

There are two scenarios for laptop updates. In the first scenario a pop-up notification in Zoom will indicate that the update is available.

The second is to manually check for updates:

1: Click the Zoom icon on your laptop to open Zoom

2: Click on the profile photo or initials in the upper right corner

3: Click 'Check for Updates' on the menu that appears. The update will load.

If administrative rights are required on an MCC laptop, enter a ticket in the myMCC Technology Help tab for assistance from the Technology Support Desk team.

For updates to personal devices, users should go to the Apple or Google stores to get the latest version if auto-update is not already enabled.

To avoid disruption, apply the updates as soon as possible. Beginning May 30, 2020, Zoom will force the upgrade to clients on older versions when trying to join meetings.
