Today is Latina Equity Pay Day!
Latina Pay Equity is part of a larger effort to bring awareness to the
disparity of the gender gap in pay. Why Nov 1st? Because it takes Latinas an
additional 10 months to make the same income as our non-Hispanic male
counterparts earn in the 12 months prior. After a decades old attempt, the
Paycheck Fairness Act was reintroduced in the House and Senate in 2015, however
did not pass. The disparity is real and action is needed for change to
occur.
Your vote matters and we hope you will exercise your right to vote next
week! For additional information on Latina Pay Equity, visit www.LatinaPayEquity.com.
