Phi Theta Kappa honors Betty Stewart
Please help the Phi Theta Kappa officers and advisors congratulate Betty
Stewart. Betty was selected as Phi Theta Kappa's Distinguished College
Administrator. The Phi Theta Kappa officers nominated Betty for the many
efforts she extends to make Phi Theta Kappa the best it can be on campus.
Highlighting a quote from student's nomination, " In her role as Director of
the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development, she developed and
initiated the leadership program known on campus as the Leadership Education
and Development (LEAD) program which promotes and guides PTK officers to become
effective leaders. The program encourages students to discuss their goals and
aspirations in leadership through PTK and concludes with a reflective essay
about the experience. This reflection allows the Phi Theta Kappa officers the
opportunity to see the ways they have developed as leaders. Betty is an
upstanding role model in leadership, because she maintains not only a smile
each day, but gives a warm welcome accompanied by a steady and positive
attitude which makes students and her staff comfortable in approaching her for
any reason".
Betty will be honored in April at the 92nd Phi Theta Kappa Annual Convention
near Dallas, Texas.
