MCC student wins award in League for Innovation's 2021-2022 national writing competition!
MCC student writer Justine Alfano has won an award in League for
Innovation's 2021-2022 Student Literary Awards competition, a national
writing contest!
Justine's fine piece, her essay “A Single Spark," was first
selected as a winner of the Rice Award for Best Personal Essay in our own
English/Philosophy Department's Annual Writing Awards Contest. As such, her
piece then automatically qualified to move on and compete at the national level
in the League's highly competitive contest, and was chosen as the 3rd-place
winner in the category of Personal Essay.
As a winner, Justine will also receive a check for $100 and a certificate of
recognition for her work from the League.
We are so proud of Justine and happy for her impressive success!
