A Constitution Day Discussion: What Does Democracy Mean to You?
The Democracy Commitment at MCC, PEACE Committee, and Department of
Anthropology, History, Political Science, and Sociology are happy to bring you
a Constitution Day discussion, What Does Democracy Mean to
You?
Many argue American democracy is at a crossroads. If true, it is important
to investigate the origins and evolution of American democracy, analyze current
trends, and discuss how we can build a stronger and more inclusive
democratic society. Join John Delate (American History), Robert Muhlnickel
(Philosophy), Bethany Gizi (Sociology), and Joe Scanlon (Political
Science) to discuss the historical, philosophical, social, and political
features of American democracy. This is an interactive opportunity to learn
about the past and present features of American democracy and
share your personal expectations for American Democracy. This
event is free and open to the public.
