Celebrating the Women of Excellence
This year MCC was fortunate to start a new initiative that recognizes
the potential talent and leadership of our women of color. Acknowledging
the success with MCC’s “Men of Excellence” program under the
direction of Milladge Griffin, “Women of Excellence” seeks to
develop and demonstrate strong personal and interpersonal competences that will
guide these students to success at MCC and the Rochester Community. Within a
short period of time, these students have built positive relationships based on
trust, respect, dependability and honesty. Our mission is to inspire
young women of color beginning with five key elements; Academic
support/readiness, Financial Literacy, Professional Development, Community
Engagement and Health and Wellness. This year these young women efforts
demonstrate the positive influence and impact women have in
our community every day. Our recipients of a $500.00 scholarship
