Heart-Home-Health (H3) Lunches are back Downtown!
The H3 Lunch initiative conducted in the Spring was very successful. In
total we fed approximately 1,950 people. We also offered valuable resources
from our internal and external partners through information tables weekly.
Moreover, the lunches brought together the entire Downtown Campus community
while addressing a critical need of hunger and food accessibility amongst our
students.
Downtown Campus Student Services in collaboration with the MCC Association
has secured additional grant funding to continue the program this fall.
"Heart-Home-Health (H3)" lunches will be available every Wednesday in
the 321 Café beginning Wednesday October 12th from 12:00-1:00 at no cost
to students.
This initiative will assist with food insecurity, address the perceived lack
of food offerings Downtown, improve mental health and wellness and create
community and belonging at the Downtown Campus. In addition to the lunches,
several mental health/wellness resources both internal and external will be
highlighted with information tables on those days. There will also be wellness
programming and healthy recipes available.
