TODAY! SNAP-Ed Nutritional Tabling Event

Proper nutrition plays a vital role in the success of college students. Studies show that eating healthy is linked with better academic performance, increased brain function, stress reduction and reduced illnesses. Yet, it can be very challenging for students to consume an optimal diet, especially for nontraditional students. You may be balancing a full-time course load, with working full-time, and family responsibilities at home. The stress of this balancing act coupled with limited free time can make it easy to put health and proper nutrition on the back burner. However, this in turn can negatively impact your academic performance and overall health. For this reason, it is important to try and find ways to prioritize and make time to properly nourish yourselves.

To highlight this important topic, our Counseling Center, Disability Services and Health Services Department has partnered with Cornell Cooperative Extension/SNAP-ED to provide a fun, educational and tasty tabling event. A rep from SNAP-Ed will have their table set up at our Brighton Campus Terrace today from 11:00am to 1:00pm. They will be providing educational material on proper nutrition, healthy cooking tips, a free food sample and a small gift for students who stop by. You won’t want to miss this one!
