March 28th Information session>>>Opportunity for Low-Cost, academic experience in Mexico after final exams

Through a 100,000 Strong in the Americas Grant, Professor Laura Penman is happy to announce a unique research, learning, and service-focused opportunity in MEXICO for MCC students!   Enrollment in BIO 290—Independent Study in Biology -- with Professor Penman will be required for participation, and students will earn academic credit through this experience.  Travel to Torreon and Petronilas, Mexico is planned for  May 26th- June 2nd, 2018.

This is a low-cost, short term study abroad experience:   The grant will cover airfare and several associated expenses for 3-4 MCC students.  Details about the project and how students can qualify for will be provided during the informational meeting. 

Even though this is listed as a biology experience, the project is interdisciplinary.  Students who can contribute their skills and knowledge in plant agriculture, social welfare issues, Spanish language, and/or business entrepreneurship are encouraged to apply.
