During her 20-year career at MCC, Professor Tshibangu has exemplified the core
values of Monroe Community College. Ever the forward-looking scholar and

pedagogies and pioneered multiple entrepreneurial initiatives at MCC. In 2019,

citizen and trusted mentor, Professor Tshibangu is a coach with the United Way
LEAD Program and is co-founder of RTST Foundation, a Congolese-American
charitable organization.
Tokeya Graham, Professor, ENG/PHL, says of Professor Tshibangu, "To be
a Black woman academic reaching the highest distinction of her professional
career is no small feat. It is my pleasure to benefit from her warm demeanor,
expert knowledge, and generous spirit. As we center equity and inclusion, it is
imperative that we amplify the voices of faculty who have been historically
excluded from the institutional record. I am pleased to be her colleague and
her friend. Professor Tshibangu is well-respected for the depth and breadth of
her knowledge. She is a collaborative partner who works to create pathways of
access for those around her."
