Upcoming Event Explores 50 Years of Title IX

Join Monroe Community College’s Institute for the Humanities and Division of Diversity, Equity & Belonging as we present Title IX at 50: The History and  Future of Landmark Legislation.

In recognition of the 50th anniversary of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, this event will both explore and celebrate the legislation’s impact on American society through a photography exhibition and panel of experts who will speak to the ways in which Title IX has shaped women’s sports, educational opportunity, campus culture, and more.

Our panel includes the following esteemed speakers:

  • Iris Zimmermann, Olympic/World Championship fencer and Founder of Monarch Leadership Group
  • Bethany Gizzi, Professor of Sociology, Monroe Community College
  • Tamar Carroll, Chair, Department of History, Rochester Institute of Technology
  • Shannon Glasgow, Director, Title IX, Monroe Community College (Moderator)

This event is FREE and open to the public, but all attendees must REGISTER in advance.
