Professor Maria Brandt Co-Authors Newly Published Critical Article
Professor Maria Brandt (English/Philosophy) has co-authored (with Jill
Swiencicki, Barb LeSavoy, and Deborah Uman) an article called "Seneca Falls,
Strategic Mythmaking, and a Feminist Politics of Relation." Featured in a new
anthology called Feminist Connections: Rhetoric and Activism Across Time, Space
and Place (The University of Alabama Press), the article draws on the writers'
years of collaborative theorizing, planning, and evaluation of the rhetorical
and political work of the bi-annual Seneca Falls Dialogues. According to
Brandt, the four authors investigate how feminists across history, geography,
and medium have sought "connections through methodological intervention that
departs from . . . habitual ways of knowing."
