Visiting Nonfiction Writer Heather Sellers
Please join us for creative-nonfiction writer Heather Sellers's visit to
MCC. Sellers will be on campus Thursday, March 21, at 7 PM for a
reading/book-signing in Monroe A and again on Friday, March 22, at 12 PM to
lead a special writing workshop.
Heather Sellers is the author of The Practice of Creative Writing
and two additional books on the craft of writing as well as a children's
book, three volumes of poetry, Georgia Under Water (fiction), and a
memoir, You Don't Look Like Anyone I Know, featured in O, the
Oprah Magazine and an O book-of-the-month-club pick. Editor's
Choice at the New York Times, her memoir also was featured on NPR, the
Today Show, Good Morning America, and The Rachael Ray
Show. Her essays appear in The New York Times, Readers Digest, Real
Simple, Good Housekeeping, The Sun, and O. She taught for many
years at Hope College where she was 2011 Professor of the Year. Currently she
is a faculty member in the MFA program at the University of South Florida,
where she was awarded a university teaching award in 2017.
