Over 3 million Americans who live on the island of Puerto Rico, which is a
United States territory, are going through a lot: a lingering economic crisis,
a government bankruptcy, the aftermath of a deadly hurricane, and now a major
political scandal. Puerto Rico is facing an existential crisis of sorts, but
the way islanders have responded to that crisis is nothing short of
remarkable.
