The Sixth Act and Student/Faculty Resources

The Sixth Act aims to provide co-curricular, interdisciplinary support to all students/faculty working with dramatic texts--or for whom the study of dramatic texts can enhance other curricular goals. To this end, we'd like to remind the MCC community of some of our resources.

THE SIXTH ACT WEBSITE

Our website, located at https://www.monroecc.edu /organizations/sixthact/, has several features that may be of interest/use to MCC faculty and students: information about our current season, a listing of drama-related course offerings at MCC, a video archive of many of our visiting playwrights, information about our student playwriting competition, a video archive of all of our student playwright competition winning plays, and more.

DRAMA ON DEMAND

Housed on our website at https://www.monroecc.edu/organizations/sixthact/drama-on-demand-video-libr ary/, our Drama on Demand video library contains scenes from almost a dozen plays, all performed by MCC students, that could be used in a variety of ways in multiple classrooms. Please contact Maria Brandt at mbrandt@monroecc.edu if you would like to request a particular scene for our students to record in the future, which we would add to our current library.

LIBRARY GUIDE

Also housed on our website (at https://ww w.monroecc.edu/organizations/sixthact/library-guide/), our library guide seeks to give students and faculty a one-stop resource for locating drama-related resources in our library's stacks and in its databases.

Our next event will be hosting playwright Nathan Yungerberg on Thursday, February 13, at 7 PM in Monroe B and then again on Friday, February 14, at 12 PM in 8-200. Here is his website: https://www.nathanyungerberg.com/. We hope to see you there!
