COVID-19 Case Update
Protecting the health and well-being of our students and employees remains MCC’s foremost priority. Thank you for doing your part to protect yourself and others during the spring semester.
Last week’s COVID-19 Test Results as of Jan. 30:
- 17 positive cases were identified among students, faculty and staff who participated in MCC-administered testing (pooled and rapid tests only) during the week of Jan. 24.
- 16 students are isolating off campus.
- No students are isolating on campus.
- No students are in mandatory or precautionary quarantine.
- Monroe County 7-day average positivity rate: 8.6% (Source: New York State).
Verified Employee COVID Isolation and Quarantine Data:
- 2 MCC employees received a COVID isolation order based upon on-campus administered testing (pooled and rapid tests) during the week of Jan. 24.
- 2 employees received a COVID isolation order based upon off-campus administered testing.
- No employees are currently subject to a Monroe County Department of Public Health quarantine order.
Reminders:
- If you feel ill or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms (e.g., fever, cough, chills, etc.), please contact your health care provider or urgent care. Do not come to MCC.
- If you received a medical or religious exemption, you must test each week for COVID-19.
- If you test positive for COVID-19 or have been instructed to quarantine (i.e., have been potentially exposed to the virus), immediately contact MCC Health Services at 292-2018 or healthsvc@monroec.edu and the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities studentrights@monroecc.edu to confirm next steps.
