Full STE[AH]M Ahead!
On May 1st, from 6:00-8:30 pm in Monroe A/B, the MCC Institute for the
Humanities will hold its second major event, Why STEM Needs the
Arts and Humanities: Education and Industry in the 21st
Century.
Our program will feature a panel of accomplished and dynamic experts from
higher education and the tech industry who will discuss the importance of
integrating the arts and humanities within STEM education and industry--thus
promoting the vital synthesis of academic and professional fields: STEAHM
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Humanities, Mathematics). Speakers
will include Eric Berridge, CEO of Bluewolf, an IBM Company; David C. Munson,
President of Rochester Institute of Technology; and Amanda Roth, Assistant
Professor of Philosophy and Women's Studies at SUNY Geneseo. Admission is FREE;
please register
in advance.
Visit our Events page here for
more details--and click here to screen Eric Berridge's TED Talk on how the
Humanities saved his company.
