Elizabeth Johnston Ambrose Wins Poetry Award

It is my distinct pleasure to announce Dr. Elizabeth Johnston Ambrose, Professor, English/Philosophy, as the winner of the 2021 Rattle Chapbook Prize for her collection, Imago Dei.  In addition to the publication of her chapbook, 500 copies, and a $5000 cash prize, the highly competitive award is often a turning point in a writer's career.  

This exciting announcement follows Elizabeth's multiple publications of poetry and prose in many magazines, including The Atlantic, The Sun, McSweeney's, The Satirist, The Belladonna, Women Studies Quarterly, and Emry's.  Dr. Johnston is a founding member of Straw Mat Writers, and her work has been nominated for three Pushcart Prizes and a Best of the Net award.  

Join me in anticipation of a December 2021 publication of Imago Dei, and congratulations to MCC's scholar, poet, and treasured colleague.
