Principal Investigator Jon Little and Co-PIs Heather Pierce and Catherine
DuBreck have been awarded a 3-year, $467,639 National Science Foundation
Advanced Technological grant for their project "Meeting Workforce Needs for
Skilled Geospatial Technicians through Virtual Geospatial Information Science
Technology Education." Their work will produce one of the nation's first A.A.S.
geospatial degree programs that is fully-accessible both on campus and online
as well as an online 9-credit microcredential. Internships, mentoring, and
library support will also be available on-line. In addition, the project will
investigate the effectiveness of these virtual supports and disseminate
information to other colleges. Please join me in congratulating Jon, Heather,
and Catherine for their award and in wishing them well as they carry out this
