Director of Student Life and Leadership Development (SLLD)
After a successful internal search, I am pleased to announce that Jodi Oriel
has accepted the position as the Director of Student Life and Leadership
Development (SLLD) effective Monday, February 1.
Jodi earned an A.S. degree in Liberal Arts from Monroe Community College, a
B.A. in Psychology from SUNY Brockport, and an M.S. in Student Personnel
Administration from Buffalo State, and she has over 28 years of experience at
MCC.
Most recently, Jodi served as the Associate Director of SLLD, where she
worked collaboratively with faculty and students to facilitate meaningful
educational programming focused on student engagement and leadership
development. She received two League for Innovation in the Community
College awards, one for the Leadership Institute and one for Scholars
Day. She also helped found the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights
Project.
In her role as Director of SLLD, Jodi will develop and implement a
comprehensive program of student activities, resources and retention
efforts and student leadership development, including student governance and
volunteer community services.
Please join me in congratulating Jodi on her new role. On behalf of
Student Services, I would like to thank the search committee for their service
to the College.
