Opportunity for STEM Students!
MCC Geology Professor Barone and Professor Colosimo have partnered with SUNY Geneseo, the Noyce Foundation (https://www.nsfnoyce.org/), and the National Science Foundation on a grant-funded program providing STEM students with the opportunity to investigate teaching practices in local K-12 classrooms as well as develop and implement their own lessons with their peers as part of a Noyce Creation Team.
If you are a student in a STEM pathway or major and are interested in potentially teaching in the K-12 school system, please view this brief video for more information as well as the Noyce Creation Team Interest Form.
A few additional details about the program:
- Must be a STEM major or be in a STEM pathway
- Can be a full- or part-time student
- NSF requires participants to be US citizens
- This is a one-semester commitment, but you can do this again in following semesters.
- As a result of your participation and success in this program this semester, you are eligible to receive a $150 each semester.
- If you find that you like teaching and might want to transfer to SUNY Geneseo in the future, you will be eligible for a full tuition scholarship!
