Take a Tour of Mount Hope Cemetery with Geography Professor Michael Boester
Geography professor Michael Boester will be leading his annual "Geography of
Mount Hope Cemetery" tour for the Friends of Mount Hope on
Saturday, September 14th from 10 am to 3 pm. This extensive tour will explore
the physical and cultural geography of Mount Hope and explain its evolution
from America's first municipal rural cemetery to fulfilling today's trends in
cremation and natural burial.
Here are the specifics:
- Admission*: $40 for all-day tour. $30 for members. Pay the day of the tour.

- Meet: North Gatehouse, 791 Mt. Hope Ave., Rochester, NY 14620
- Lunch: Please bring a picnic lunch. You may also order from Pellegrino's
Deli on the day of the event (cash only)
*All proceeds go to the Friends of Mount Hope allowing them to support
tours of the cemetery and to restore and repair headstones and
monuments.
