Maria Brandt (English/Philosophy) Play SWANS Premiers at GEVA in June
This June, GEVA Theatre will premier Professor Maria Brandt's full-length
play Swans. Swans is a tender exploration of a local family
torn apart by abuse. In this stirring world premiere written by Rochester
playwright Maria Brandt, Paul's mother returns after a ten-year absence,
forcing Paul to confront the circumstances of her leaving as well as his own
complicity in shaping a world where women are not always safe. Directed by
Method Machine's David Henderson and featuring some of Rochester's top talent,
Swans will be presented in The Fielding Stage at Geva for only four
performances. Swans is an important new experience that will provide
deeper and personal insights into the long-term impact of abuse.
