Students Enjoy the Ride with RTS Anytime, Any Route, Fare-Free with your MCC ID!

Starting this fall semester, full- and part-time MCC students* can ride any RTS bus fare-free with their MCC ID--any route and anytime including weekends, college breaks and intersession during the 2018-19 academic year. Students simply swipe their MCC ID card on the bus farebox when boarding.

The new Universal Pass program (or U-Pass for short) takes effect Aug. 27 through May 24.

(*NOTE: Students who take all their classes online or have all their classes at the Public Safety Training Facility are not eligible for the U-Pass but can access bus transportation by paying regular RTS fares--only $1 per ride.)

Using the U-Pass, here are a few of the many ways students can get to MCC:

  • Route 59 MCC Connector (direct service between Downtown and Brighton campuses; no stops at the RTS Transit Center) Monday through Friday during the entire academic year including breaks and intersession.
  • Route 5 MCC Downtown (RTS Transit Center to the Downtown Campus) Monday through Friday when classes are in session.
  • Route 55 MCC Brighton (RTS Transit Center to the Brighton Campus) Monday through Friday during the entire academic year including breaks and intersession. Students are encouraged to allow themselves extra time to get to their destination, taking into account any traffic, weather, construction or other unforeseen delays. All routes will be available to the general public

Go to www.myRTS.com/MCC for route maps and information or call (585) 288-1700 if you have questions.

Go to https://www.monroecc.edu/about-mcc/locations-maps for locations of all RTS bus stops at the Brighton Campus, Downtown Campus, and Applied Technologies Center.

Please check the Student Tribune regularly for information updates on the U-Pass program. The hope is that the program will make commuting between campuses easier and meet the needs of students, including those who live in the residence halls on campus.
