Click the link or paste it into your browser to view some brand new music
videos from one of our MCC ensembles. It features our instrumental & vocal
students of Professor Nyerges and Dr. Rollo Fisher performing chamber music
like the beautiful latin tune “Bésame
Mucho” sung in Spanish by Zazie Weldgen. Zazie
will also be featured on another orchestral arrangement singing
“Goodbye” which is considered one of the most
beautiful yet haunting melodies ever written. It also happened to be Benny
Goodman’s sign-off song. There will be a beautiful orchestral rendition
of "What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life" with
acoustic lead guitar by Ivanna Soletska, wonderful snare brush
work by Colin D’Annunzio and a sax solo by our guest
artist Vince Ercolamento. Joe Percy will sing
a modern version of "That's All" and play some solo
and rhythm guitar plus another tenor saxophone solo by Vince. Sydney
Moore will perform “Killing Me Softly”
along with some tasty Pedal Steel Guitar from Terrell King.
You will also hear that song that Gene Wilder sang in the original Willy Wonka
and The Chocolate Factory film, “Pure Imagination”
sung by Laura Galbraith and Joe Percy along with slides of
beautiful wishes accompanied by a violin solo in the middle of the tune. The
group also includes Sara Whalen (percussion) Dylan
Fenti (piano), and Anisha Stallworth on vocals which
will be in the next concert.
The students sent me their smart phone videos and/or CD quality audio files
that they played over supplied backing tracks using earbuds or headphones. I
arranged and created the orchestrations, edited and produced the music tracks
& videos in my NBRJazz home studio adding the
students’ performances for the MCC Music Area of the Visual &
Performing Arts Department. The Music Area would like to thank the support of
the Creative Arts Committee in the Student Center making it possible
to bring in guest artists to perform with our students, as they have for many
years. Hope you enjoy them!! -Professor John Nyerges
