TOMORROW: Hotel Rwanda Hero at MCC
In just over 100 days in 1994, an estimated 70% of the Tutsi population in
Rwanda was annihilated through a brutal program of genocide. Join MCC's
Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Project as we mark the 25th anniversary
of this atrocity, remember the victims, and honor the survivors at our annual
Voices of Vigilance program. Our keynote speaker will be Paul Rusesabagina,
whose story is depicted in the 2004 Academy Award-nominated film Hotel
Rwanda, starring Don Cheadle. Rusesabagina was the manager of the Hôtel
des Mille Collines in Kigali, Rwanda during the genocide. Over 1200 potential
victims were sheltered there and survived the violence.
