Food Pantry- D.W.I.G.H.T @ the Downtown Campus
Greetings from the Wellness Promotion Center,
We, at MCC's Downtown Campus, would like to inform you of a new service to
all MCC students, faculty, and staff who may be facing food insecurities.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), defines food insecurity as a
state in which "consistent access to adequate food is limited by a lack of
money and other resources at times during the year."
How can we help?
Doing What Is
Good and Healthy Together,
is a campus food pantry initiative created to support students in need of food
and additional resources to help those that are having difficulties making ends
meet. We value our students and want to help our College Community!
Location and Hours of Operation?
D.W.I.G.H.T @ the Downtown Campus
2nd Floor, Room
220
Open Monday to Friday
10:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
*The
D.W.I.G.H.T food pantry is closed all college holidays and may be closed
without notice, as staffing requires.
Who is eligible?
The food pantry can be accessed by any MCC Student, Faculty and/or Staff.
- MCC ID must be presented
- Limited to one visit per month
- No appointments necessary however you will first need to meet with a
representative from the Wellness Promotion Center and/or the Office of Campus
Life
- We are a "choice" (shopping) pantry
How is D.W.I.G.H.T @ The Downtown Campus supported?
Grant funding for this initiative has been provided through the generosity
of Foodlink and on-going
food-donations contributed by faculty, students
and staff at Monroe Community College.
