Congratulations to Professors Jonathon Little, Laura Penman, Wayne Howard, Justin Cole and GIST students!
Professor Jon Little has been awarded two international grant collaborations
and was selected to present at the 2020 Community College In International
Development Conference (https://www.ccidinc.org/) this week in
Florida.
The Embassy of the United States in Kazakhstan and the American Council for
International Education awarded Professors Jon Little, Laura Penman, Wayne
Howard, and Justin Cole with $20,000 to develop a research project to identify
areas of wheat disease in Kazakhstan and create student virtual internships and
exchanges with S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University (KATU). MCC GIST
student, Salvatore-John Ragusa, will also be involved with this project.
Professor Little was also awarded a SUNY Innovative Instructional Technology
Grant (IITG) and will use this grant to continue his collaboration with
Fundación Universitaria Tecnológico Comfenalco in Cartagena, Colombia. MCC GIST
student, Catherine DuBreck, will present her GIST capstone project and help
create an activity for GIS students in Comfenalco.
