Partnering to Support Early Care Students through SUNY Paid Internship Program
We are pleased to share that five of our Early Care and Education students
are currently being supported by SUNY’s Early Childhood Worker Paid
Internship Program to complete their internship at the Richard M. Guon Child
Care Center at the Brighton Campus. Through this funding, the students
are compensated for, on average, approximately 20 hours per week, as they
complete required internship hours in their programs of study. Anne
Barker, Director of the Child Care Center, and Lena Shiao, Associate Professor
in the Department of Education and Human Services, worked closely with Carolyn
Hunt, Director of Strategic Resource Development and Grant Management, to
secure these funds to support our students.
All five students are successfully completing their paid internships, while
learning valuable career-related knowledge and skills, while also supporting
our on-campus child care center in fostering the development of young minds.
Please join us in celebrating this mutually beneficial opportunity and
partnership.
