All Summer Classes to be Online or Remote

Please be aware that all of MCC's summer courses will be offered through a distance learning format. This includes courses offered fully online through MCC's Blackboard learning management system, as well as courses offered remotely using Blackboard, Zoom, and other distance learning options. Some students may have originally registered for a course that was scheduled to be face-to-face, and we want to make sure everyone is aware of this change. Please know that MCC has many supports for students learning online or remotely, and we are fully prepared to support student academic success.

  • Fully online classes (coded SLN on the Master Schedule) meet asynchronously, meaning students can log in at different times throughout the week to complete their work. There will, however, be due dates for assignments and exams.
  • Remote classes (coded RMT on the Master Schedule) typically have some synchronous activities, meaning students will participate in lecture and group activities though remote learning software such as Zoom with the instructor and classmates at specific times. These meetings will occur within the timeframe of the scheduled class meetings to allow as much participation as possible. Instructors will provide details about the specific meeting times.

Instructors will post course information sheets that provide additional information about course delivery, activities, and other details on what to expect.

We understand there may be more uncertainty in student schedules than usual at this time. Instructors will be as flexible and accommodating as possible with student schedules while still meeting the learning objectives of our college-level courses.

For questions about the courses please contact the professor assigned to the course.
