MCC Closed Monday, June 20 in Observance of Juneteenth, Other Dates to Know

MCC will be closed next Monday, June 20 in observance of the Juneteenth federal holiday. The College will reopen on Tuesday morning, June 21. Juneteenth marks the effective end of slavery in the United States and celebrates African-American liberty and culture.

Other upcoming dates to keep in mind include:

  • Monday, July 4: MCC closed in observance of Independence Day
  • Monday, July 11: Summer Session II classes begin
  • Monday, August 29:  Fall semester classes begin
  • Monday, September 5: MCC closed in observance of Labor Day
  • Tuesday, September 6: MCC open but no classes will be held
  • Monday, September 19: 60th anniversary of the first day MCC opened its doors to students (celebratory events to be announced soon)
  • Thursday, September 22:  Inauguration of MCC’s Sixth President Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna; installation ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Stabins Physical Education Complex
  • Friday, November 11: Veterans Day – MCC open and classes in session
