Apply to Transfer to a 4-Year College or University
Please share with students:
If you are planning to transfer this fall, now is the time to apply! All students (including those accepted into 2+2 Transfer Pathways) need to fill out applications. Applications are typically due in March. Be sure to check with the schools that interest you.
There are three steps to the process:
Apply:
- For SUNY, use the SUNY application. If graduating from MCC: you can apply to 7 SUNY schools for free. Make sure you indicate that you will graduate when asked on the application. Click the “Transfer Student Fee Waiver” button under the payment option. Note: SUNY Empire uses a different application. There is a free application code for MCC grads: ECPTRADV (except for nursing majors).
- For Private and Out‐of‐State Colleges: Use the college’s application on their website OR a multi-campus application such as the Common Application if you are applying to several schools.
Request that all of your transcripts be sent to the 4 year college:
- MCC official transcripts can be requested via your myMCC account. Contact any other colleges attended directly.
Apply for Financial Aid:
- This may include FAFSA, TAP, Excelsior, and the CSS Profile for some private institutions. Apply early. Don't wait to be accepted!
See when 4-Year Colleges are visiting campus. You can meet 1:1 with some of them right at the Brighton campus.
