Choosing Courses for a Smooth Transfer

MCC offers many resources to help students and advisors determine the best courses for transferring to a 4-year college or university. Below are two links on the Transfer Services webpage to check out.

  1. 2+2 Transfer Pathway Advising Guides: 14 Colleges and Universities. Hundreds of majors. Make sure to look at the Liberal Arts guides. You will find majors you might not expect!
  2. Additional Transfer Agreements: Below are a few examples of what you can find:
    • St. John Fisher has transfer guides for all of their majors. If you look under “Liberal Arts” you will find recommended courses for majors including Cybersecurity, Athletic Performance, Legal Studies, Religious Studies, and more.
    • SUNY ESF has an excellent website that shows students exactly what to take at MCC.
    • SUNY Cortland has transfer planning sheets for all of its majors.

It is never too early to start the transfer planning process!
