The Liberal Arts and Sciences degree (LA04) provides flexibility to tailor coursework for a smooth transfer. The goal is to obtain your A.S. degree while taking SUNY General Education and foundation courses for your major at the 4-year degree institution.

Admission to RIT's Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is competitive; Up to two seats per year are available to students that have been accepted into the MCC 2+2 Transfer Pathway (LA63) as indicated by the MCC major. Students repeating courses more than once will have their grade point average recalculated by RIT to include these courses in their overall GPA. Numerous repeat of courses and/or low GPA may result in removal of student from the 2+3 agreement by MCC or RIT.

This program starts in the Fall semester only. Students should apply to RIT by February 1 of the year they plan to start at RIT. Read all notes on the bottom of this page for RIT specific information.

Note that RIT also offers certificate programs in
Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound) and Echocardiography (Cardiac Ultrasound). These may be good options to explore.
