BIO-217

Nutrition

Includes the study of nutrients needed for healthy human function. Emphasis is placed on the physiological needs for specific nutrients in the human body and how they are processed. Other topics include lifespan nutrition, food safety, meal planning, energy balance, eating disorders, and the effects of alcohol consumption. This course is designed for students in Health Related Programs. Three class hours.

Prerequisites

BIO 134 OR BIO 144 OR permission of instructor.
