The purpose of Advisement and Transfer Services is to serve the entire college community by coordinating, facilitating, promoting, and enhancing academic advisement and transfer planning. We are dedicated to student learning and development by advising, teaching, training, and mentoring our diverse student population. We advocate for students at the start of their MCC journey through the successful completion of their educational goals. Advisement and Transfer Services is committed to an integrated advising approach that reflects the guided pathways philosophy. The student/advisor relationship is a critical component to degree completion. Students benefit the most when they receive guidance from an expert who knows their pathway. Please see our Philosophy of Advisement and Advising Learning Outcomes for more information.

The  Advisement Centers serve:

  • New, returning, transfer and undecided students
  • Students requesting advisement regarding a major change
  • Students who require immediate support with Financial Aid Course Eligibility (FACE)
  • All students needing registration assistance

The Advisement Centers are happy to assist all current students with locating their assigned advisor. Advisor and department assignments are found on the student checklist in the mymcc home page  and on the Degree Works worksheet.
