Police Motorcycle Operator Course

Program Announcement

The Monroe County Public Safety Training Facility (PSTF), in partnership with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, will be holding a two-week Police Motorcycle Operator Course. This course focuses on providing officers who are already experienced motorcycle riders with the skills necessary to maneuver on the roadways and safely perform their duties. On the first day of training, attendees will report to the PSTF at 1190 Scottsville Road, Rochester, NY.  Practical exercises will occur at the Xerox Corporation, 800 Phillips Road, Webster, NY, Building 128 parking lot (northeast corner of Phillips Rd. and San Jose Dr.).

Students who successfully complete this course will receive four (4) college credits from Monroe Community College.

Session Dates

June 17 thru 28, 2024, 8am to 4pm

Prerequisites

  • Active duty, sworn police or peace officer;
  • Possession of a valid NYS Class M license.

Required Attire and/or Equipment

  • Attire (dress code)
    • Attendees must provide and wear proper riding attire (DOT approved helmet, eye protection, full finger gloves, over the ankle boots, and rain gear as needed).

Graduation Requirements

  • 90% attendance (policy set by Monroe Community College)
  • 70% passing grade written examination
  • 75% passing grade on proficiency riding test

Course Tuition and Fees

  • Tuition: $816.00 (per person)
  • Estimated Student Fees: $111.75 (Student fees may vary each semester)
  • It is Not necessary to send a check or voucher prior to class. Students will be billed at the completion of the course.
  • Note:  Monroe Community College may find it necessary to revise tuition and fees as necessary and reserves the right to do so.

Reservations

Please complete the online Law Enforcement Program Course Reservation Form prior to May 24, 2024. Submitting a reservation form does not guarantee admittance to a course. Confirmation notices will be emailed approximately 2 weeks prior to the class. Please remember to check your junk/spam folder.

To avoid double tuition billing, a Certificate of Residence is required from students who reside outside of Monroe County.
