College Update on COVID-19 Testing Efforts

Out of the 918 pooled tests MCC conducted last week, one positive case of COVID-19 was identified. Currently:

  • No students are isolating on campus.
  • 3 students are isolating off campus.
  • 3 students are in mandatory quarantine off campus.

MCC Testing Stats to Date:

  • 24,380 completed COVID-19 pooled tests
  • 42 total cases identified among students and employees through pooled testing.
  • 0.17% positivity rate.

This week, pooled testing sessions will be held from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11 and 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 12 in the Flynn Campus Center on the Brighton Campus. No appointment necessary.  

Beginning next Monday, pooled testing sessions will transition to Monday evenings and Tuesday mornings:

  • Monday, May 17 from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Monday, May 24 from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

MCC adheres to state and county guidelines and requires mask wearing, social distancing, hand washing, respiratory etiquette, and daily health self-assessments on campus. Please check the SUNY COVID-19 Case Tracker for the latest information.
