News from the December MCC Board of Trustees Meeting

The MCC Board of Trustees met on Monday, December 5, 2022, and took the following actions:

  1. Adopted the consent agenda effective December 5, 2022
  2. Accepted operating disbursements totaling $11,795,582.44 for the month of August 2022, $9,097,551.50 for the month of September 2022, and $14,239,152.43 for the month of October 2022, subject to final audit.
  3. Accepted the Interim Financial Reports as of August 31, September 30, and October 31, 2022.
  4. Authorized Purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the month of August, September, and October 2022.

The Board heard presentations from:

  • Tavione Griffi provided a Student Testimonial
  • My Linh “Mia” Le, Student Trustee update including in her participation at the October ACCT conference
  • William Dixon, Director, Research, regarding the Student Success Dashboard with Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Measurements 
  • Christine Casalinuovo-Adams, Associate Vice President, Enrollment Management, providing a Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Update
  • Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna, provided the President’s Update, including the recent reaffirmation of MCC to The League for Innovation in the Community College and the President’s seat on the Board of Directors. Chair Allen Williams received the 2022 ACCT Northeast Trustee Leadership Award at the ACCT Leadership Congress. Dr. Burt-Nanna also provided an update on the searches for the Chief of Staff/Assistant to the President, Governmental Relations and Provost/Vice President, Academic and Student Affairs positions.
  • Dr. Robin Cole Jr., Economic & Workforce Development & Career Technical Education (EDIWS) on EDIWS activities, Dr. Calvin Gantt, Vice President, Diversity, Equity and Belonging and Executive Director, Downtown Campus on division activities; Greg Hinton, CFO/Vice President, on Administrative Services activities; Dr. Kimberly McKinsey-Mabry, Acting Provost & Vice President on Academic Service activities; Gretchen Wood, Vice President, Institutional Advancement and Executive Director, MCC Foundation, on Institutional Advancement activities, MCC Foundation  Board of Directors Chair Lori Van Dusen regarding Foundation activities, including the Salute to Excellence and the Roc the Day Activities
  • Shared Governance representatives including Student Government Association President Paula Barlow, Faculty Senate President Nadya Pares-Kane, and Dr. Burt-Nanna representing Administration. Support Staff Planning Council submitted a written update
  • Faculty Association President Beth Gizzi provided an update; CSEA leaders did not provide an update.
