Dr. Katherine Douglas Appointed as MCC Interim President
Yesterday, the State University of New York Board of Trustees appointed Katherine P. Douglas, Ed.D., as MCC's interim president. Dr. Douglas' appointment is effective Monday, February 3, 2020 (media release).

As members of the College community, you are invited to join us in welcoming Dr. Douglas at a reception at 2:30-3:30 p.m. Monday, February 3, in the Main/North Dining area of the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center, prior to the MCC Board of Trustees meeting.
In December 2019, reflecting MCC's commitment to shared governance, the MCC Board of Trustees incorporated survey feedback from students, faculty and staff in its determination and recommendation of Dr. Douglas as MCC's interim president.
Dr. Douglas brings more than 40 years of experience in community college education to MCC. Most recently, she served as president of SUNY Corning Community College for eight years until her retirement in June 2019. Dr. Douglas holds doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees, all from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Dr. Douglas is anticipated to serve in the position for approximately 12 to 18 months, at an annual salary of $225,000. Her experience as a community college educator and administrator will ensure continuity during MCC's search for its permanent president.
