Virtual Campus Announcements: Welcome to Fall 2024!

Welcome to the Fall 2024 semester on behalf of the Virtual Campus team!

Contact Information: Our physical office is located on the Brighton Campus in room 3-150. Faculty can also utilize computers in our Faculty Innovation Center in room 3-122A. Reach us via email at virtualcampus@monroecc.edu or call us at (585) 292-3440. New to the college? Stop by and say hello!

Support Services: For assistance with instructional design, Brightspace, or other instructional technologies, bookmark our Information for Faculty page on our website. We offer support primarily through Zoom, but also in-person meetings, and one-on-one appointments. Regular reminders and important information are sent through Brightspace announcements. Our typical Zoom support hours are:

  • Monday: 10 am to 12 pm
  • Tuesday: 10 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 3 pm
  • Wednesday: 10 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 3 pm
  • Thursday: 10 am to 12 pm
  • Friday: 10 am to 12 pm

For support outside these hours, please email us, and we will connect you with a team member.

Resources: Our newly organized Virtual Campus Faculty Center in Brightspace offers a variety of resources, including Brightspace documents, AI resources, and tools like Zoom, the Yuja video server, Turnitin, and Respondus. Faculty enrolled in this space will receive weekly announcements via their primary email with support hours and other important reminders.

Brightspace Training: We have launched customized MCC Brightspace Training modules! Faculty can access this asynchronous training within the Professional Development tab of Brightspace. This resource is designed to help faculty onboard and refresh their skills. Find more information about Brightspace Training. 

Virtual Campus Workshop Sessions: Register for one or all of the fall Virtual Campus Workshop sessions. This sign-up link offers the opportunity to preregister for all remaining fall sessions. Session registration is recommended, but not required. You will receive a calendar invitation with the Zoom link for the session from the Virtual Campus following the completion of the registration form.  This session will be canceled with 2 days notice if preregistrations do not display enough interest in the topic to support the session.

SUNY Online Help Desk: The SUNY Online Help Desk is a great resource for both faculty and students with Brightspace support, especially outside of college business hours. You can submit a support ticket online or call 1-844-673-6786.
