The Virtual Campus (VC) team provides faculty training and support in the use of MCC's course management system, Brightspace. We hope you will take advantage of what we have to offer!

Top Reasons To Start Using Brightspace

  • Easy access for students to all of your course information and course content
  • Keep students posted as to their grades during the entire semester in a confidential manner
  • Incorporate web-based content using Web Links
  • Embed or attach your PowerPoint presentations in one central location
  • Centralized communication to your class roster through Announcements. 
  • Mobile-friendly experience on all devices. Brightspace even has an app called Pulse!
  • Get Class Progress analytics on your students
  • Personalize your content with replacement strings. For example, use {firstname} to allow students to see their name appear throughout your course

Brightspace Training - Fully Online Options

All faculty interested in using Brightspace to supplement a face-to-face course, or faculty needing to teach a hybrid or fully online course are recommended to view training on the use of Brightspace. SUNY Asynchronous Training Modules are available in your Brightspace account. 

Virtual Campus Learning Opportunities

  • There are many quick Brightspace Tutorials on YouTube for your use. 
  • You can refer to our collection of resources (videos, documents, and websites) located in our VC Faculty Center space in Brightspace. All faculty users are enrolled upon account creation. 
  • SUNY provides Brightspace training for users (synchronous and asynchronous). See their DLE Training website for more details. Browse recordings that are categorized by topic. 

Fall 2023 Learning Opportunities

Sessions will take place on our regular Virtual Campus Zoom Link, with the exception of the vendor sessions which require registration noted below. Sessions are approximately 30-60 minutes. Recordings and resources can found in the VC Faculty Center in Brightspace.
