The 9-credit Teaching Assistant: Level III microcredential is designed to further the knowledge and skills of those who wish to work as a certified Teaching Assistant. To reach NYS Teaching Assistant Level III certification, applicants need to complete at least 18 credits of college coursework. This program satisfies the required academic component and builds on Level II training to provide more in-depth knowledge of child development, supporting diverse student populations, and the educational context of working in schools. It is not necessary to already be a teaching assistant to begin this microcredential.
