Honors Institute
What I Dreamed College Would Be Like
The Honors Institute is MCC's college-within-a-college for our most academically talented and motivated students. This program enables these motivated students to take ownership of their education in ways they have dreamed of doing.
Honors Institute courses emphasize academic rigor, personal connections with professors, lively class discussions of globally important issues, and preparation for transfer to four-year colleges. In addition to developing research, writing, and critical thinking skills, honors students cultivate relationships with inspiring faculty members that last well beyond the completion of their MCC degree.
BENEFITS OF THE HONORS INSTITUTE
The Honors curriculum is designed to promote intellectual growth, academic excellence, and the desire to contribute to students’ local and global communities. Reduced class sizes, specialized events, priority registration, and transfer opportunities are just some of the benefits of the Honors Institute.
ADVANCED STUDIES CERTIFICATES
Do you seek academic challenges? The Honors Institute grants two certificates that students can earn with their degree, learn more about the Advanced Studies Certificate and the Advanced Studies Certificate with Thesis.
