How do I know if I am eligibile for EOP?

Check the appropriate box on the EOP application or contact the EOP Office at eopoffice@monroecc.edu.

First-time students

  • Be a first-time, full-time day student (no prior college).
  • Be a resident of New York State (one year).
  • Be a high school graduate with a C average or have a G.E.D. (General Equivalency Diploma).
  • A member of a household with a gross annual income that does not exceed the applicable amount stated in the New York State Education Department's Guidelines.  For the financial guidelines, please visit the EOP webpage or view the college's catalog..

    ***First-time applicants are required to submit an EOP Suppelmental Application along with high school records , test scores, a  recommendation, essay, schedule a personal interview, and submit all income from prior calendar year.  

    Transfer Students

    • Previous particiaption in EOP( Educational Opportunity Program),  College Discovery, HEOP (Higher Educational Opportunity Program), SEEK (Search for Eduation, Elevation, and Knowledge), or a similar program at his/her previous college
    • Not in default on student loans
    • Be in good academic standing with at least a 2.0 from the last semester of attendance
    • Have not obtained a degree
    • Have not reached the maximum of six semesters of opportunity program eligibility

    **Transfer applicants are required to submit an EOP Supplemental Application and schedule a personal interview.  In addition, proof of prior EOP status will be verified by the EOP Office. 

    Readmit Students

    • Previous enrollment in EOP at Monroe Community College
    • Not in default on student loans
    • Be in good academic standing with at least a 2.0 GPA from last semester of attendance
    • Have not reached the maximum of six semesters of opportunity porgram eligibility

    Deadlines for EOP Admissions are May for fall semester and December for spring semester.  Admissions deadlines are subject to change upon the number of applications received each semester.  Students accepted to Monroe Community College are not automatically accepted to EOP.  Priority is given to students who are from historically disadvantaged backgrounds.
