2+3 with Rochester Institute of Technology
B.S. Computer Science (CS36 - Competitive)
MCC Degree Awarded:
Computer Science A.S. (CS01)
Please note that some courses required in a Transfer Pathway may not be required for the MCC program. This could have financial aid implications. Students should meet with their advisor or with a transfer representative to discuss an academic plan and recommended sequence of courses.
This guide is for students
entering this 2+3 for catalog year 2023-2024. If you are a new 2+3 student
for 2024-2025, there are some MCC curriculum changes; be sure to review
this with an MCC advisor.
Carefully read and follow this entire guide. Contact RIT or MCC Transfer
Services if you have questions.
A minimum GPA of 3.25 is required for acceptance to RIT for those accepted
into this 2+3. Students not formally accepted into the 2+3 (as indicated
by MCC major) may need a higher GPA. Students repeating courses more than
once will have their grade point average recalculated by RIT to include
these courses in their overall GPA. Numerous repeat of courses and/or low
GPA may result in removal of student from the 2+3 agreement by MCC or RIT.
Students need to
apply to RIT as they are completing their studies at MCC; the final admission
decision is made by RIT.
Matriculated, continuous, full-time enrollment (12 or more credit hours
each semester) is required for students formally accepted into this Competitive
2+3 (as indicated by the MCC major).
A grade of C or better
is needed for credit to be awarded by RIT.
AP, IB, CLEP, transfer credit, College Now or other Dual Enrollment courses:
Credits showing as accepted by MCC may not be transferable. See Transfer
and Test Credit.
