Description
The Certificate program in Human Services is designed for individuals who want to learn the skills needed for employment or who wish to expand their career options within the field but who do not want to undertake the supporting academic courses required for the associate degree.

Students will be introduced to the core helping and case management skills while experiencing hands-on training through field placements in areas of their interests, such as youth, gerontology, disabilities, and families.

The certificate is awarded to students who complete both an introductory course and elective in human services in their first semester and then three consecutive semesters of seminar/field work courses. Four semesters are required to complete the program.

Certificate holders may go on to earn the A.S. Degree in Human Services or A.S. Degree in Liberal Arts: Professional Studies if they choose by adding these courses to their respective programs.
