General FAQ
When are the MCC Libraries open?
The LeRoy V Good Library (Brighton Campus) and the Anne Kress Learning
Commons (Downtown Campus) are currently open with Intersession hours. Full
semester hours resume on Monday 1/21/22 See our hours on the library website or the
library tab on myMCC.
Do I need an appointment to visit the Library or Learning
Commons?
You do not need a reservation to visit the Library or Learning Commons or
use the technology in these spaces. Students can reserve a study room, or
reserve a time with our Family Friendly Study Room on the library
website.
Where is the Student Technology HelpDesk?
Students who need help with technology can come to the service desk at the
LeRoy V. Good Library or Downtown Campus Learning Commons for assistance. To
provide seamless technology support to students, the Student Technology
HelpDesk has relocated to the main floor of the LeRoy V. Good Library. You can
still reach the Student
Technology HelpDesk by phone at (585) 292-8324 or email at technologyhelp@student.monroec
c.edu.
How can students get library help?
Library help is available in person, online chat, email at libraries at
libraries@monroecc.edu, or phone at
292-2303 (Brighton Campus) or 685-6005 (Downtown Campus). Students can also make an
appointment to get research help from a librarian through Zoom.
Can students use public computers and printers?
Yes. If you want to use a computer to take an online or remote class, be
sure to bring corded headphones. Bluetooth headphones do not work on campus
computers. Our printers, scanners, and copiers will be available as well.
Is the library loaning laptops to students?
We are expecting 100 laptops that we will loan to students to support spring
coursework. However, these laptops have not been received yet. Once we receive
these laptops and they have been set up for student use we will post
information to the Tribune on how students can check them out.
Are course reserves available?
Reserve textbooks will be available for students to check out for use in the
Library or Learning Commons.
